player and coach. He served as the head coach at

(1946–1948),
Miami University

Oxford, Ohio
(1949–1950), and
Ohio State University
(1951–1978), compiling a career

record of 238 wins, 72 losses, and 10 ties. He was inducted into the
College Football Hall of Fame
as a coach in 1983.
